The scope is completely purged internally to make it fogproof and immune to moisture. It is also O-ring sealed to make it waterproof. The exterior is rough and textured. It is also shockproof. You can use this on any weapon you have in your mind.
The lenses are super clean. They are vibrant, bright, and crystal clear. You can buy the scope in different magnifications. Depending on which magnification you go for, the price may increase by a bit. But one thing they all have in common is the lens. The lenses are the same in all of them and they are extremely clear.
Does this scope come with any mounting rings?
No, it doesn’t come with any mounting accessories. You will need to buy the rings on your own. Vortex sells the rings separately for their models.
Is the reticle in SFP?
No, the reticle is in the first focal plane aka FFP. You can choose from several different reticles as well. Make sure to choose the one that clicks with you while purchasing.

It’s excellent for hunting. The clarity and crosshair accuracy are super good. You will have a fun time hunting or plinking with this scope with 224 Valkyrie.
2. Athlon Ares BTR GEN2 HD 2.5-15×50 FFP Riflescope
Athlon is not the brand that you go towards when you are on a budget. Most of their scopes are flagship tier and they compete with other high-end scopes.
The Ares BTR Gen2 is supposed to be the bridge between a high-end and budget market. While the price may be high for newbies to invest, it’s still a worthy investment.
The scope is made out of high-quality aluminum. It’s as durable as much higher-priced scopes. Instead of using multiple parts like night-vision scopes, this one is a single-piece tube design. The inside of the tube is purged with chemicals to make it immune to fogging and moisture. The turrets are designed with stainless steel. They are rust-free and the scope is waterproof.
The lenses are made out of HD glasses. They are advanced and fully multi-coated. They are some of the best you can find in this price range. No doubt there. The light transmission capability of the lenses is astonishingly good. They are remarkable in low-light performance as well. While it’s still not capable of being used during the night, it’s good enough for low light.
Does this scope come with mounting rings?
No, it doesn’t come with any mounting accessories. You will need to buy rings compatible with your guns rail separately. They do sell them as well.
Is the reticle in FFP?
Yes, the reticle is in the first focal plane. With 15x magnification, you get an amazing view and accuracy with the FFP reticle.
Is this scope good for hunting?
Yes, this was made for short to medium-range hunting. It’s also good for plinking and small-game hunting. While the maximum magnification is 15x, it’s not suitable for long-range hunting. 224 Valkyrie is not suitable for long-range either.

3. Primary Arms SLX 4-14x44mm FFP Rifle Scope
The SLX from Primary Arms is a medium-range balanced riflescope for hunting and plinking. While the base magnification of the scope is 4x, it’s not the most suitable for tactical shooting. Primary Arms is mostly known for its affordable lineup of scopes. SLX is one of them.
SLX is made out of high-quality and durable aluminum. It’s not heavy like brass or other materials and is still quite durable. The inside of the tube is purged to make it immune to moisture and fogging. The ones who used cheaper scopes in winter are well aware of how important the anti-fogging feature is. The SLX is shock and waterproof as well. You can use this in winter and rainy season if you want to.
While the lenses are not made of out HD glasses, they are still fully multi-coated. They are extremely vibrant and bright. Light transmission capability is good as well.
Even at maximum magnification, the scope has no glare or blur to hinder the view. Low-light performance isn’t mind blowing but it’s quite good. It’s one of the better performing in this price bracket.

It’s really good for hunting and plinking. Especially in small-game hunting, it’s one of the better ones. Paired with .224 Valkyrie, this is a killer combination that will give you a good result in competitions.

Yes, the scope comes with a limited 3-year warranty for any defect caused by materials or workmanship. While it may seem a little low, it’s more than enough in the long run.
4. NightForce NX8 1-8×24 F1 Scope w/Zerostop
NightForce is a top-of-the-line scope manufacturer. They compete with brands like Zeiss and the like. Their optics are not cheap and there are good enough reasons for that. Their optics are usually made for all sorts of users.
The NX8 is a flagship scope made out of aircraft-grade aluminum. It’s as good as it possibly can be. There is no visible error present on the scope. The anodized finish on this is excellent, to say the least. The Matte black finish suits this a lot. It is water, fog, and shockproof simultaneously. Giving you the freedom to use this in any given weather and condition.
The lenses are fully multi-coated. They are crystal clear and vivid. The light transmission capability is really good. It gathers enough light to work with during the low-light condition.
Despite having “night” in their name, it’s not a night vision scope. What a missed opportunity! Don’t let that dishearten you though. It’s a great all-day using scope nonetheless.
Does this scope come with mounting rings?
No, it doesn’t come with any kind of mounting accessories. As the tube of the scope is 30mm, you will need to buy 30mm mounting rings. NightForce does sell them separately.

Yes, they do. NX8 comes with a transferrable lifetime warranty. They will fix or replace your scope in this period.
Where is this scope made in?
The NightForce NX8 is made in Japan. While a lot of people spread misinformation about this being made in China or being imported from the Philippines and then assembled in the USA, nothing like this happens. It’s made in Japan.
5. Monstrum G3 6-24×50 First Focal Plane Rifle Scope
If you have been a follower of TargetChaser for a while now, you know this is not the first time I’m featuring Monstrum G3 on the site. You and I both know how much I adore budget stuff.
The G3 from Monstrum might be one of the best budget riflescopes on the market. You could point me towards Leupold and Vortex if you wish, but this scope has something those scopes don’t have. What are they? Let’s find out.
The scope is made out of durable and lightweight aluminum. It has a robust housing with a matte black finish. The surface is smooth and feels premium to the touch. The scope is also available in two different finishes. If matte black isn’t your thing, you can go for the dark earth color variant. The G3 is water, fog, and shockproof as well.
The lenses are fully multi-coated. They are quite good. The light transmission capability of the scope is quite solid. You can see your targets. The low-light performance is quite decent. While it’s not the best one in low light, it’s doable. It’s one of the better Valkyrie 224 scopes. Even at 24x magnification, the scope doesn’t suffer from too much distortion, that’s a good sign in a budget scope.
How is this better value then?
Earlier I said, it’s one of the better-valued scopes in this budget. That’s solely because of the number of accessories it includes. It comes with mounting rings and flip-up lens covers. The included Picatinny mounting rings and lens cover make it a wonderful deal.
Is this scope good for hunting?
It’s great for whitetail and similar-level hunting. It’s excellent for plinking and airsoft. Plinking scopes are not that rare these days. It’s one of the better ones at the task.
Is the reticle in FFP?
Yes, the reticle is in the first focal plane. You can guess why I put this above another scope in this price bracket. It got most of the things right. Especially, the price.
6. Bushnell 4.5-18x40mm AR Optics Rifle Scope
Last but not least, a scope from Bushnell. Bushnell is known for their budget scopes and this is one of their finest works. It’s one of the cheapest scopes that you will see people recommending to you in different forums and communities.
It’s a medium-range riflescope with solid housing overall. The housing is made out of durable and lightweight aluminum. While the capped turrets are made out of similar materials as well.
To combine with the BDC reticle, the turrets are suitable for BDC adjustments. This is suitable for all sorts of weather as well. With fog, water, and shockproof rating, it’s a really good budget option.
The lenses are coated as well. Besides increasing the brightness and clarity of the glass, the coating also makes them more durable. They are resistant to water, oil, fog, dust, and debris. Yes, you can use this scope without any lens covers. But of course, lens covers will give you better protection overall. The performance of the scope is quite good.
Does this scope come with mounting rings?
Sadly no. This scope doesn’t come with any mounting accessories or stabilizing equipment. You can buy bipod for hunting and mounting rings from other companies for this scope. Make sure to buy the rings suitable for your gun’s rail.
Is the reticle illuminated?
No, the reticle isn’t illuminated. It’s a regular BDC reticle with BDC adjustments. Simple to use and understand and excellent for hunting.
Does Bushnell provide a warranty?
Yes, Bushnell covers their products with a lifetime warranty. In this period, if your scope stops working due to a manufacturing issue, they will replace it for you.
How To Choose The Best Scope For 224 Valkyrie?
You can compare choosing a riflescope with choosing a smartphone. It’s kind of similar. What do you expect from the new smartphone? I can ask you the same for a scope. What do you expect from it? If you know that, choosing the right one is quite simple.
Build Quality
The housing of the scope needs to be durable enough to protect everything inside of it. Even the visible turret needs to be durable. Or else, you can’t pair your scope with powerful guns.
Warranty
Most of the time, you can’t fix a scope on your own. You can reset adjustments and do micro adjustments on your own, but you can’t fix a broken scope. You will need a warranty for that. Make sure the company is providing a warranty.
Lens Quality
