Tenpoint Vengent S440 Review: Most Flagship Crossbow

TenPoint is a competitive crossbow manufacturer. They are always trying to be one step ahead of the competition. It’s not an easy task to do by any means. But TenPoint has done that time and time again.

TenPoint Vengent S440 crossbow is a mix between budget and top-end specs. I understand $2000 is not a budget crossbow by any means. But when you see the specs They are offering for that price, the Vengent S440 becomes more and more appealing. Should you increase your budget and get the S440? Let’s find that out in this TenPoint Vengent S440 review

Tenpoint Vengent S440: Outlooks

Tenpoint Vengent S440

Specifications | Speed: 440 FPS; Kinetic Energy: 166 ft.lbs; Power Stroke: 14 Inches; Draw Style: Forward-Draw; Axle To Axle: 5.8 / 11 Inches; Length: 35 Inches; Weight: 7.7 LBS.

Build Quality

If you have searched for the Vengent S440 before, you already know TenPoint claims that this is the narrowest and fastest forward-draw crossbow they ever made. It’s amazing when you think about it. Forward-draw crossbows are often way too large and heavy.

To mitigate that, you will need to come up with something that no one ever did before. TenPoint is all up for innovation. When I first saw the Vengent S440, I knew it was going to be good.

From the design to the build quality, everything about this crossbow screams of class. The matte black finish is eye-catching. The finish had no quality control issues whatsoever.

The weight of the Vengent S440 is only 7.7 lbs. With accessories that will be rather high. The stock crossbow is quite lightweight. I have no complaints regarding the build quality at all.

Power

This is not a cheap crossbow. Expecting it to be powerful is understandable. Thankfully, TenPoint didn’t disappoint. The Vengent S440 is capable of generating 166 ft-lbs of kinetic energy. That’s a lot of power. You can’t forget how narrow the crossbow is.

The cocked axle-to-axle width is only 5.8″. How did TenPoint manage to pull it off? Some things should remain a mystery.

Speed

As the name suggests, Vengent is capable of firing arrows at up to 440 FPS. Notice that I said up to, that’s because this crossbow won’t fire all arrows at 440 FPS. You will need a specific set of arrows made by TenPoint themselves to achieve the maximum speed. This is annoying, to say the least. A lot of us just want to take out the crossbow and use the arrows that we already have.

If you don’t have arrows already, then this is good news for you. You can purchase the correct arrows to reach your desired speed.

Draw Weight

If you purchase a high-end TenPoint crossbow, never worry about the draw weight. TenPoint uses the ACUdraw pro silent cranking device. It reduces the draw weight of the crossbow to less than 10 lbs. Which is insane to even think about.

As long as you are capable of pulling 10 lbs of weight, you can easily load this crossbow.

Noise

Crossbows aren’t as powerful as a rifle or pistol. That’s why the recoil of a crossbow is not that high either. Most of the time the vibration of a crossbow comes from the string friction. Noise suppressor reduces the sound of the crossbow. It also reduces the vibration of the crossbow. You can hunt without alerting the prey.

Pros

  • 440 FPS.
  • 166 ft-lbs of kinetic energy.
  • Silent and deadly.
  • Lightweight.
  • S1 trigger.
  • Micro-Trac Barrel.
  • One of the most compact forward-draw crossbows on the market.

Cons

  • Expensive.

Tenpoint Vengent S440 Review Summary

The price tag of this crossbow is not a small one. It’s not the most expensive crossbow either but a well-balanced crossbow that is priced accurately. It’s offering a lot of high-end crossbow performance for a middle-range price tag.

Vengent S440 is an incredible crossbow. There is no denying that. If you are willing to commit to a crossbow for a lifetime, this can be an excellent choice. If you feel like I missed something in the TenPoint Vengent S440 review, make sure to let me know in the comments.
