It’s not every day we bring you a crossbow review. But when we do we make sure to bring a crossbow that’s worth your money. Will this be the same case here? Don’t worry! We got the Centerpoint Sniper 370 review.
Centerpoint Sniper 370: Outlooks
Specifications | Speed: 370 FPS; Kinetic Energy: 113.9 ft.lbs; Power Stroke: 13.5 Inches; Draw Weight: 185 LBS; Axle To Axle: 18 / 21.5 Inches; Length: 40 Inches; Weight: 7.9 LBS.
Body Quality
When it comes to a piece of hunting equipment the first mandatory thing is to find out whether it’s capable of hunting or not. You can’t bring a toy to a hunting ground. That’s why the build quality material of your weapon needs to be good.
The material used for this crossbow is machined aluminum. Now, this is not comparable to your super-expensive carbon fiber. But for a 500$ crossbow, we appreciate the aluminum build instead of wood.
Don’t get us wrong we are in no way trying to shame wooden frames we love wooden stocks. But when you are paying 500$ for a crossbow that may catch wood termites.
The overall body quality feels like a sturdy piece of equipment that is made for hunters. It can withstand all the natural tortures in your hunting session.
To tell you in one sentence the build quality is excellent.
Design
When you choose a crossbow for competition shooting or even hunting there is a possibility you want to showcase your crossbow more.
Why not?
Most of the crossbows nowadays have excellent-looking camo designs. The Centerpoint 370 is designed to be durable and efficient. The crossbow features an adjustable AR stock. That gives you the feel of an actual rifle.
The camo design also gives an excellent look to the whole crossbow.
Speed, Power, Accuracy
The name should be a giveaway of the maximum power of the crossbow. As the name suggests Centerpoint 370 has a 370 fps power. The crossbow can pull up to 130 FP-KE (kinetic force in pounds).
In case you are wondering the average FP-KE is 75. When you are aiming for the big game this budget-friendly crossbow won’t hold you down. It will help its best to push you to the limit.
Centerpoint offers excellent accuracy at 50 yards out of the box. There are claims of hunters out there who have used this crossbow to shoot at over 80 yards. But the safe bet here is it’s best for mid-range use.
The trigger cape of the crossbow may hurt your accuracy. But it’s something that you get used to and never bother you again.
User Comfort
Another key part of a crossbow is that is it user-friendly. Or is the learning curve too big for newbies etc? You will be glad to know that there is a manual included inside the box to help you understand better. In case you don’t want to read it no problem.
Setting up the crossbow is not hard at all. Inside the box, the crossbow will also come with an aluminum crossbow scope.
Once you are done setting up the crossbow your user experience will blow you out. It’s that simple. The AR-style stock makes it feel like a rifle. If you have operated a rifle before you will find it easy.
Not only the crossbow is compact and lightweight it also comes with a strap. You can hang it around your shoulder. As it is lightweight you won’t even feel stressed a bit while carrying it.
The crossbow also has a pistol grip. But this may not be a plus point for everyone. There is a large amount of creeps on the trigger to prevent a premature trigger.
But while it’s a good thing that you don’t misclick. It’s also a problem when you trying to quick scope and get a quick shot in.
Noise Suppression
In case you didn’t read the specification chart, this crossbow has a noise suppression built-in. Its job is to reduce string vibration and increase accuracy.
The foot stirrup of the crossbow is also coated with rubber armor and does the same job.
While the suppression is quite enough many hunters will still go for more dampeners to suppress the sound further.
Scope
We can’t forget that there is an aluminum body-illuminated crossbow included in the box for free. The out-of-box scope is already calibrated for 40 yards. The green dot indicates that. Sighting in the scope is super easy. And the zero holds pretty well.
The best part of the scope is it has an illuminated reticle. Even though you can’t compare the illumination with a top-end scope. But it’s still there.
