Hawke Sports Optics XB1 SR IR Review

Let’s start with Hawke sports optics XB1 SR IR. We don’t need to talk about Hawke’s glory that much because everyone in the community is well aware of just how good of a brand Hawke is.

Body Quality

Back to the topic about build quality, simply put it’s excellent. The scope is also lightweight. Weighing only 368grams.

Optics Quality

The optics are fully multi-coated. Rest assured you are getting an excellent performance. For those who don’t know fully multi-coating make sure the scope can gather as much light as possible which results in clean and crisp image qualities. The scope has 11 multiple coatings! 11!

Where most companies would cheap out to even use multi-coating on a scope Hawke went all out on the coating department. All to ensure that the users experience the best possible clarity while using the scope. And they delivered it excellently. Props to Hawke for going the extra mile to ensure a good session for shooters.

From a brand that is so well known in the community, you will expect them to have a good build quality. To be hones you should expect a good build quality. For the money you are paying Hawke won’t disappoint you. The scope has a rugged exterior with a matte finish. If you have read our posts for a while you would know how much we love the matte finish. They are the best.

In case you didn’t know Hawke provides lenses for Trophy Ridge. The scope is also a nitrogen-purged and fog proof. The field of view is not that great.

The reticle of this scoped is a glass etched one. Even if your lens gets misplaced from fall damage (which it won’t we are pretty sure about that) your reticle will stay the same. The reticle is also illuminated. The illumination color is red and green. You can expect a good low light performance. Considering the scope is fully multi-coated and has illuminated reticles.

  • Great body quality.
  • Excellent optics quality.
  • Can keep up with high-speed crossbows up to 425fps.
  • Fog proof and water-resistant.
  • Glass etched reticle.
  • Multicolor illuminated reticle.

  • The objective lens is smaller.
  • FOP (Field of view) could have been bigger.

Overall the scope is a bang for the bucks only if you are willing to spend that much. The scope is well worthy of its price. We are pretty sure any shooter/hunters will be satisfied with the performance they get from the scope.

Hawke Crossbow 1.5-5X32 IR SR Scope Review

Almost the same scope as the one above but there are some key differences. We will talk about those here in detail –

Hawke Crossbow 1.5-5X32 IR SR Scope Specs

Topic Value
Magnification 1.5 - 5 x
Objective Lens Diameter 32 mm
Reticle XB1 SR
Tube Diameter 1 in
Weight 13 oz
FOP, @Linear 22.5 - 75 ft at 100 yds
Eye Relief 4.02 in
Length 8.3 in
Color Black

Body Quality

Like the one above the Hawke crossbow 1.5-5×32 IR SR scope doesn’t fail the body quality mark either. What I mean is it has an excellent build quality too. The scope has also a black matte finish to it. Rugged strong and durable exterior. The scope is also water-resistant. Hawke didn’t fail to checkmark all the necessities.

Optics Quality

You have to have great optics for other companies to purchase from you. Trophy Ridge buys there lenses from Hawke. So you can imagine just how good of a lens they make. The scope is also fully multi-coated with 11 coatings. 11 different kinds of coating to make sure you get the best possible experience through the scope.

The scope is nitrogen purged to make it fog proof. Trust me it is one of the best possible scopes for your crossbow for under 150$.

Glass etched two colors illuminated reticle. What more do you need? The reticle is an SR reticle. Which has multiple marking horizontally under the main crosshair. Which acts as bullet drop compensation and distance (if you can read them that is).

While Hawke claims the scope is 425 fps and 5x, you will have a hard time to make the scope perform at 425fps at 5x zoom. Trust me you will hate the experience. That’s why a lot of reviewers said the scope is not a true 5x.

  • Excellent build quality.
  • Excellent optics quality.
  • 11 multiple coatings.
  • Fog proof and water-resistant.
  • Glass etched multiple colored SR reticle.

  • Not a true 5x.
  • Small objective lens.
  • FOP could have been bigger.

Overall an excellent scope. You are getting almost everything for around 150$. We loved the image clarity and overall performance is also satisfying. The scope will also last long enough to make your investment worth it.

Final Thoughts

That’s all for today. WE hope you liked our Hawke crossbow scope reviews. We provided two of the best Hawke scopes in the market. You can check their price and decide which one to opt for. It doesn’t matter which one you choose you won’t be disappointed.
