The Eotech XPS series is their smallest sight with a big punch. All of the sights in this lineup are compact, supports almost all guns, and perform excellently. They proved countless times that the price tag is more than worth it.

Durability
Both of the sights are made with high-grade aluminum. They are made from the same mold after all. If there was any design error, both of them would carry over the same design error. Luckily, there was none. Thanks to that, both of these sights are incredibly durable and the water resistance on each is praiseworthy.
XPS3 took the water resistance to the next level and made it immune to water for up to 10m. That’s incredible, to be honest.
Reticle
Here is one key difference that separates the two. XPS2 also comes with a 1 red dot reticle. XPS3 decided to ditch that and go with 2 red dots and with MOA circle around the red dot. This can be the key point for people who are looking to buy this sight.
Night Vision
These two have night vision device attachments. XPS 3 supports Gen I through III+ night vision devices. You will also unlock an extra 10 brightness settings if you pair it up with this device. To some (including me) this is something to think about. Night vision is a handy tool to have. When your sight gives you that opportunity, why not take it?
Size
Eotech XPS 2 vs XPS 3: Just like weight, there is no difference when it comes to size either. The overall dimensions of both sights are 3.8″ x 2.1″ x 2.5″. Quite small for a holographic sight. Eotech was proud of how it turned out. Honestly, they should be proud. They put in the hard work and it resulted in an overwhelming victory.
Weight

To summarize this short but sweet comparison between Eotech XPS2 vs XPS3, both sights are basically the same except for some minor changes. If you already are an owner of the XPS2, you have no reason to upgrade to the XPS3. Unless you really want that night vision feature.
But for a new owner, you might as well go with the XPS3. That sight offers more upgrade potential down the line.
