Most of you guys already know that the G2C and G3C are way too similar. If you are an owner of the G2C and planning to upgrade to the G3C, you might want to read this through before making that decision.
While upgrading the G2C won’t magically turn it into a G3C, it will make it perform close enough for you to not consider the G3C. But finding the best Taurus G2C upgrades is not as easy as it sounds. It will take some time, patience, and lots of money to make it happen.

Taurus G2C Holster Upgrade
The first accessory that you might want to improve if you haven’t already, is the holster. Carrying a handgun becomes a lot more convenient with the right holster. Some holsters are too bulky and some are fragile and not suitable for G2C. Here are some of the best holsters for G2C.

The first holster I want to recommend you to is made out of Kydex. A very durable plastic-like material that’s not as fragile as regular plastic. IWB holsters are quite popular among self-defense gun owners. They are smaller in size and easy to carry.

2. Taurus G2C Holster By Gun & Flower
No, I don’t think the brand’s name has to do anything with Watchmen, but we are free to believe what we want, aren’t we? Gun Flower holsters are not a new name to most of you. They have been hanging around for a long time and make killer value holsters for hand-carry weapons.
The holster is made out of polymer and supports both G2C and G3C. Visually both of them are identical so you can use the G3C holster on the G2C and vice versa. Polymer is lightweight and extremely durable as well. Rest assured, the holster won’t break on you anytime soon.
Taurus G2C Sight Upgrades
In case you didn’t know, the G3C doesn’t come with any sights either. This allows you to one-up on the G3C. After all, a handgun becomes a lot better with an added sight.
1. Viridian E Series Class 3R Red Laser Sight
Laser sights are a good way to make your G2C even more accurate. You might have seen them in movies or real-life swat usage. They are extremely accurate while not taking up any space on the top. The best part is, that you can use a sight on top of the gun and a laser sight at the same time.
The Viridian laser sight is made with polymer and it shoots a completely legal red laser light that is capable of running for 6 hours! That’s insane considering most laser sights nowadays only last for 3-4 hours maximum.
2. Ade Advanced Optics Crusader RD3-009 Red Dot Reflex Sight
Boy, that name is a mouthful! Good thing the scope isn’t! This tiny optic is capable of making your G2C perform better than a stock G3C. The accuracy of this sight is insanely good.
The sight is made out of aluminum and the lens is multi-coated. The coating improves the visual performance of the lens and makes it usable under low light. This sight works on both G3C and G2C and Taurus PT140 as well. The site also features a 5 MOA reticle that is illuminated. Using a CR2032 battery, you can run this optic for a long time.
Taurus G2C Tactical Light Upgrade
Tactical lights are mostly targeted towards sports shooters and people who use the G2C for tactical assault and the like. On the contrary, they are often used by hunters to their advantage as well.
1. STREAMLIGHT 69420 TLR-7 500-Lumen Pistol Light
When it comes to top of the line tactical weapon lights, Streamlight will always come ahead of other brands. Their lights are quite expensive but they are worth every penny you are about to pay.
This light is made out of CNC machined aluminum and you can later use this light in a different gun if you want. The gun has a maximum throw distance of 131 meters and the spread is quite minimal. Due to that, the gun light is capable of being used as a hunting flashlight alternative. The battery life is around 3 hours but that is to be expected. Could have been better but it’s a small light.
2. Laserpro Rechargeable Green Laser Sight w/LED Light
If you want to keep your laser sight and use a flashlight as well, then this is what you have been looking for. Laserpro green laser sight is equipped with a rechargeable battery that powers up both the laser and the white LED.
You could easily pair this with the Ade Advanced red dot sight and have a total of two sights and the ability to use the gun during the night. The combo has a good battery life. It could have been better but the rechargeability gives it a pass.
Taurus G2C Magazine Upgrade
The magazine is one of the most important parts of a pistol. It ensures you have a proper supply of bullets to the chamber. That’s why having some extra magazines will not hurt anyone. Rather, it will help you in most cases.
1. Taurus G2C 9mm 12 Round Magazine
This is not an extended magazine by any means. This is kind of the same magazine that you received with your gun. The magazine is made of metal and it has a polymer extension.
The extension makes it easier to grab and take it out while trying to replace it. You might want to invest in a speedloader while you are at it. Hilljak Taurus G2C is a good speedloader that will make your reload time faster than Usain Bolt.
2. Taurus G2C 17 Round Extended Magazine
So, 12 shots are not enough for you. That’s where this magazine walks in. This 17-round extended magazine is also made by Taurus themselves. Originally the magazine was made for G3.
As G3 shares similarities with G3C and G2C, they can share this magazine among them. The magazine body is made out of metal and the extension is made out of plastic. It’s not as soft as rubber but it’s still quite comfortable.
Taurus G2C Pistol Grip Upgrades
As the Taurus G2C is made out of polymer, using a good set of grips on it makes sense. Adding a new pair of grips will add a bit more depth and groove to the gun.
1. TALON Grips Taurus G2C Grip
A grip kit like this from Talon will add in the much-needed. This grip from Talon is made out of a textured sticker-like material. Essentially, it’s a sticker. It has adhesive on one side and a textured pattern on the other.
After taking it out, you will need to precisely place it on the gun like you are using a D-Brand skin on your phone for example. Then let the skin settle down and try to rub away all the bubbles and deformities. The nonsticky part will not have sticky residue from sweat.
Should You Upgrade Your G2C?
Should I upgrade my Taurus G2C or buy a new G3C instead? The thing is, the G3C isn’t outright a better gun when you compare both of them in stock. It is slightly improved but not by much.
With these upgrades on your G2C, the G3C will not come anywhere near it. Sure, you can do similar upgrades to G3C as well. But that means you will need to buy the G3C first and then start upgrading it as well.
So, in my opinion, it’s worth upgrading the G2C and sticking to it instead of investing in a G3C and then upgrading that as well.
