Build Quality
Like always, CenterPoint didn’t disappoint with the specs on this crossbow. One glance at the sheet and you will automatically know it’s a killing machine. For a killing machine of this caliber, the build quality has to be good. If it’s not durable for your needs, there is no point in buying it. Thankfully, that’s not the case here.
Besides some very old CenterPoint crossbows with QC issues, I have rarely noticed people complaining about the structure of a CenterPoint crossbow. Quality control issues can happen to anyone. No point in holding them hostage for that.
The weight of the crossbow without any accessories is 7 lbs. For a naked crossbow, that’s rather on the higher end of the scale. If you add in the accessories, the weight will increase even further. Speed
As the name suggests, CenterPoint CP400 is capable of reaching up to 400 FPS. We all know, that 400 FPS is more than enough for any sort of hunting and target practice. Anything you throw in front of the CP400 will annihilate it.
The accuracy of this crossbow is also mind-blowing. You combine speed, power, and accuracy, you have a killer crossbow in your hand.
Draw Weight
When it comes to compound crossbows, I am not that worried about the draw weight. Most of the time the draw weight is quite low. It can get lower using the cranking aid provided by the manufacturer.
As for the CP400, you will get an option to have a built-in silent cranking device. The draw weight will be around 10-12 lbs after installing that. Without the cranking aid, the draw weight of the crossbow is 200 lbs. Which is not bad for a crossbow that is so powerful.
If you don’t want to go for the cranking aid, you can always cut down the draw weight by half using a rope cocker.
Noise And Vibration
The crossbow is pretty silent out of the box. I am not saying you should make it more silent. But if you want, you can. The limb suppressors eliminate the limb noise and vibration. Making it a silent and deadly crossbow.
