Best Golf Rangefinder – Top 10 in 2020 [Guide & Top Picks]

Best-Golf-Rangefinder

Using rangefinders in golf has been getting quite popular. A lot of mini-tournaments allow using rangefinders. While the more competitive one might not. Using a golf rangefinder will help you aim better kind of like an aim assist.

There are many laser rangefinders available in the market. Most of them are aimed towards hunters. Most of them can also be used for golf. Today we are going to talk about some of the best golf rangefinders that you can find in the market. Almost all of them will be laser rangefinder for better accuracy.

Best Golf Rangefinder

1. Bushnell Pro X2 Golf Laser Rangefinder

Magnification 6x
Range to a Flag 450 yards
PinSeeker with JOLT Yes
Slope-Switch, Dual Display Yes
Waterproof, Fast Focus System Yes

You have probably heard of Bushnell by now. They are known for manufacturing some of the best available outdoor sporting goods in the market.

After revamping their whole golf rangefinder lineup Bushnell has gained a lot of popularity and new customers. The X2 is an upgrade over the discontinued X7 or tour X.

To put it in one line, the rangefinder includes everything. Everything that you want in a golf rangefinder, you will find that here. The X2 offers Bushnell’s dual-display technology. You can switch from LCD to LED anytime you want.

Another great feature of the rangefinder is Slope-Switch Technology. You can go from tournament legal mode to Slope measuring tool with the flip of a switch. It couldn’t be any simpler. The rangefinder also features PinSeeker with JOLT, Stable-Grip, and 2nd Generation E.S.P.

Now, do you believe me when I say it got everything?

The rangefinder is also completely waterproof. The exit pupil diameter is 3.5mm which is perfect for daytime use. Tournament legal, dual-display, excellent features, jolt vibrations, it doesn’t get any better than this.

To sum up everything, there is no downside to this rangefinder. This is the ultimate best golf rangefinder that you could buy.

2. Nikon Coolshot Pro Stabilized Golf Rangefinder

Magnification 6x
Objective Lens 21mm
Eye Relief 18mm
Diopter Adjustment +/- 4°
Measurement Range 8- 1200 Yards

Nikon is an amazing brand that makes some of the best cameras and in the market. The setup process of Coolshot Pro is quite easy. You just need to remove the black cap that is covering the objective lens and add the CR2 battery to power up the rangefinder.

Nikon claims the accuracy at 700 yards is +/- 0.75 yards. That means the usual performance of 50 to 250 yards gonna be highly accurate.

I am yet to face a situation where you need to hit a 1200 yard hole. But Nikon does claim that their Coolshot Pro is stabilized up to 1200 yards. The distance is displayed to 1 decimeter. Which is oddly satisfying if you ask me.

As the name suggests, Nikon uses an advanced optical stabilization feature to reduce vibration. If there isn’t any vibration, then the readings will come accurate always.

With the 6x magnification and wide field of view, you will see more than you ever could.

To conclude, I want to mention how compact and lightweight Nikon Coolshot Pro is. You don’t even need any mount for it. It can sit in your pocket when you don’t need it. It’s an excellent option for any golfers.

3. Bushnell Tour V5 Golf Laser Rangefinder

Magnification 6x
Objective Lens 21mm
Eye Relief 16mm
Exit Pupil 4mm
Field of View 330ft@1000 yards

Bushnell has always been good with their rangefinders. When they announced the Bushnell Tour V5 Patriot Pack, I was excited, to say the least.

The presentation has always been a key factor in decision making. Like always, Bushnell nailed the presentation here. The packaging of the Tour V5 is great. There is no chance of anything inside getting compromised.

It comes at a cheaper price than the other rangefinders we featured so far. But that does not mean it lacks behind them. This one also has slope measuring technology. It is also tournament legal. If you want you can turn off the slope measurement.

The rangefinder has 6x magnification. It is enough for 1000+ yards of golf. The field of view and the brightness is also higher compared to the previous gens of Bushnell golf rangefinders. As it’s a laser rangefinder, the accuracy will be higher than the regular range finders.

It’s rainproof and comes with a hard-shell carrying case.

Overall it’s a best golf rangefinder. It looks awesome, it performs awesome. You won’t feel like you are wasting money on it. If you want to purchase hurry up because it tends to go stock out quite often.

4. TecTecTec ULT-X Golf Rangefinder

Magnification 6x
Max Range 1,000+ Yards
Accuracy @300 Yards +/- 0.3 Yard
Scan & Pin Sensor Yes
Slope & Vibration Yes

What an unusual name. But don’t let the name fool you. TecTecTec ULT-X golf rangefinder is an excellent laser rangefinder. Their VPR500 was quite popular. Because that product wasn’t that pricey. But it packed more than enough features to become famous among golfers.

In 2020 TecTecTec decided to it’s time for another comeback and thus came the ULT-X. The price difference is not huge, but for a small price, you get over 500 yards of extra range.

Target Lock Technology was one of the key reasons behind the original golf rangefinder’s success. Target Lock helps you to lock at a flag and calculate the distance. It can easily calculate up to 450 yards. After that with some hazards, you can push it for 1000 yards. But I won’t recommend that reading can be a bit vague.

This model also has a jolt vibrating sensor. It sends you a tiny bit of jitter when it locks on to the target. The scan feature is easy to use and has no stiff learning curve.

The accuracy of this rangefinder is quite high. For the price, it can easily give other manufacturers a run for their money. It wouldn’t be a worthy contender of the best golf rangefinder if it lacked slope features. We are glad that it doesn’t.

To sum up, it’s cheap and it’s good. That’s all you need to know before putting down your money behind it.

5. Bushnell Tour V4 JOLT Golf Laser Rangefinder

Magnification 5x
Max Range 1,000+ Yards
Range to a Flag 400 Yards
PinSeeker with Jolt Yes
Fast Focus System Yes

This is the previous version of tour V5. It’s small, easy to carry, lightweight, cheap, works great.

Those are some of the noteworthy features of the V4 Jolt golf rangefinder. This is an older model, this does not feature any fancy technologies from Bushnell. That’s why over the years the price of this rangefinder dropped quite a bit.

It was a significant upgrade over the V3 model. If you want an even more upgraded version, V5 is your aim. We are talking about the V4 here. The looks and build quality of this are quite good. It’s rainproof but does not come with a hard carrying case.

The slope technology was advanced in this compared to the last-gen. There is no point in buying a rangefinder without.

It’s easy to use, super lightweight, fit’s in your pocket, and the slope measurement is accurate. Even though it’s quite dated now, it’s still worth the purchase.

6. Callaway 300 Pro Golf Laser Rangefinder

Magnification 6x
Max Range 1,000+ Yards
P.A.T Range 300 Yards
P.A.T. Accuracy +/- 1 yard
Weight 7.0 oz

Callaway 300 Pro golf laser rangefinder is one of the most durable rangefinders that you will find in the market. The rugged build of this rangefinder is just excellent. It’s surprising to me that it doesn’t cost over $200.

It’s incredibly accurate. You can easily carry it with you anywhere you want. Like most other rangefinders, this one will also sit snuggly inside your pocket.

Understanding the distance on this one is not that hard. Even seasonal golfers said it was incredibly easy to navigate and understand the Callaway 300 Pro golf laser rangefinder. When a casual person says something like this, you have to believe the manufacturer did something right.

The slope measurement is easy to read and quite accurate. The lock-on technology is quite good but it is only accurate up to 300 yards.

There aren’t any features that reduce vibration. If your hands are shaky then you will notice some odd readings on the same poll. Besides these two downsides, it’s a best golf rangefinder for casual golfers.

7. TecTecTec VPRO500 Golf Rangefinder

Magnification 6x
Max Range 500+ Yards
Accuracy @300 yards +/- 0.3 Yard
Slope & Vibration Yes
Weight 6.52 oz

You may have seen that coming! Because, this is the OG VPRO500 that we mentioned earlier in the TecTecTec ULT-X part. TecTecTec VPRO500 is the bestselling golf rangefinder in Amazon. It has over 5500+ verified review on Amazon.

Why is that? What’s the reason? There are more than one reason actually.

The pink lock technology on this rangefinder is phenomenal. The accuracy is off the chart. A lot of manufacturers were surprised from this rangefinder. I can say this without any doubt that, it started a revolution in modern day golf rangefinders.

The range of this rangefinder is not that much compared to other rangefinders. It’s around 540 yards. But guess what? All 540 yards of that range is almost 100% accurate.

Another excellent fact of this rangefinder is the field of view. The objective lens is not that large, but the clarity and vividness of view is mind blowing. I am sure TecTecTec uses some of the best lens in the market.

The user experience of the rangefinder was excellent. If you read through a couple of reviews in Amazon, you will notice a lot of them had no prior knowledge about operating a rangefinder. That speaks volume of TecTecTec. Ease of access is something that a lot of manufacturer lacks. Not TecTecTec, and I thank them for that.

What’s more, the speed of this rangefinder is equally awesome. I wasn’t joking when I said this is a revolutionary product. Within mere seconds after locking, you will get the most accurate result that you can ever hope for.

Removing trap and hazards is quite easy and highly accurate. The slope measurement is on par with $500 rangefinders. I can understand why so many people bought this rangefinder

Still not sold on the product? Guess what I got more for you. All of these excellent features can be yours for only $150. Surprising right? Click the link if you still don’t believe me and see it for yourself.

8. Anyork 6x Golf Rangefinder

Magnification 6x
Max Range 650+ Yards
Accuracy +/- 1 yard
Slope Yes
Fast Focus System Yes

Anyork golf rangefinder is a cheap 6x magnification rangefinder. The maximum range of this rangefinder is around 1500 yards. It’s tournament legal, as you can turn off the slope measurement.

If you don’t know what slope mode is, slope mode will measure even the ups and downs of the terrain and give the most accurate result possible. That’s why the slope is not legal in tournaments. It’s kind of cheating to know the exact distance between you and the hole.

If you want to use it in tournaments, you need to turn off the slope. You can easily do that with the press of a single button.

Just because the rangefinder says it can measure up to 1500 yards, that doesn’t mean it can actually do that. Anyork is not the most accurate after 1000yards. You can push it for 1500 and guess the result. But I won’t recommend that.

What I really liked about the rangefinder is the price. It’s quite cheap. The slope accuracy is mind-blowing, it was 90%+ accurate up to 600 yards. That’s plenty enough for any golfing session. For $130 the rangefinder nailed a bit of everything.

9. Peakpulse 6x Golf Laser Rangefinder

Magnification 6x
Max Range 400+ Yards
Accuracy 1 Yard
Flag Acquisition Yes
Fast Focus System Yes

Peakpulse golf rangefinder is one of the cheapest rangefinders on the list. The money you are paying actually shows. The build quality is by no means the greatest. It’s an okay build quality and certainly looks better in pictures.

But the size of this rangefinder is quite small. It’s compact and almost weightless. The best-selling feature of this rangefinder is the long-lasting battery.

Like every rangefinder on the list, the magnification of this one is also 6x. You can easily see up to 1000+ yards, but we didn’t need to test it past 600 yards. I have to admit, I didn’t expect it to be this accurate.

I am well aware of the users that claimed it has shown wrong information, that’s because the pulse vibration technology is not that good. If you can’t live with that, then you need to spend more on a better rangefinder.

10. Wosports Golf Laser RangeFinder

Magnification 6x
Objective Lens 25mm
Eye Relief 16mm
Exit Pupil 3.9mm
Field of View 7 degree

The final and the cheapest rangefinder on today’s list is the Wosports golf rangefinder. Don’t confuse it for the Wosports 650 yards range finder.

This one is the less powerful and less expensive version of that one. This also has the flag lock technology but only works up to 200 yards.

You need a CR2 battery to power it up and you will find that in the box. For the price the rangefinder works at is supposed to. It’s nothing groundbreaking.

But there is no slope measurement. Unless you absolutely can’t afford to have any of the other rangefinders on the list, then it’s a good choice for you. It’s good for a basic rangefinder, you will understand the basics and learn how to use a rangefinder easily. But that’s it.
