1. Ravin R20 Sniper Crossbow Package

The winner of the best new crossbow 2019 Ravin R20 is a well-loved crossbow by the community.

One of the selling points of this crossbow is how lightweight and compact it is. Weighing at 6.9 pounds with the scope, its lighter than most modern-day crossbows. The 13″ power plant can generate 164 feet of kinetic energy.

The crossbow also has vibration-reducing technology. It’s one of the most compact crossbows out in the market. I mean, it’s not easy to get the award for the best of the year. Sure it’s expensive, but what you get in return for that price is insane value.

Assembling the crossbow is quite easy. The included guide inside the box tells you exactly what you need to know. Even after that, if you feel uncomfortable, you can see a video demonstration. There are lots of videos available on the internet.

This small beast is capable of shooting at 430 FPS. It’s comparable with top of the line crossbow.

Who am I kidding, this is a top of the line crossbow. Don’t forget it won the best crossbow of the 2019 award editor’s choice. The cocking mechanism is unique and built-in. You don’t need a rope or extra accessories to cock the crossbow.

The crossbow is made for speed and maneuverability. If you see some videos of this crossbow shooting, it will blow your mind. Well, not literally, but it will surprise you for sure. If you upgrade from a 200 FPS or less powered crossbow, the difference is night and day.

HONESTLY SPEAKING, this deserved all the awards and praises it got. Sure, Ravin R20 problems are a thing. But most of them are easily fixable. And some of them are even operating problems.

2. TenPoint Shadow NXT Crossbow Package

YOU SHOULD HAVE SEEN THAT COMING.

TenPoint is a big name in the crossbow community. Both hunters and competitive shooters love them. They earned that respect and love. They are known to provide some of the best mid-range hunting crossbows. They have crossbows under 1000$ and over 1000$. If you are floating around that budget, you should keep them in mind.

As for the crossbow, the Shadow NXT has three versions. We are reviewing the ACUdraw 50SLED version. This price of this crossbow is just a little over 1000$.

The max speed of this crossbow is up to 390FPS. The speed is quite high. Not as high as the top of the line. But for hunting 390 FPS is more than enough.

The crossbow comes with a 3x Pro-view 2 scope. The 6.5inches width of the crossbow makes it super compact and maneuverable.

3. Excalibur Micro Sup Crossbow Package

While it may not be the great Excalibur of King Arthur, there is nothing that stopping this crossbow from being a great one. Maybe there is, let’s talk about it.

It’s one of the best crossbows within the 1000$ category. Somethings are holding it back from being the best in this range.

But it also has some great features. For starter, this is a high-speed crossbow. The maximum FPS of this crossbow is 355. I know it’s below the Shadow NXT. But do you need more than 350 FPS?

I don’t think a mid-range hunter needs more than 350 FPS. The extra FPS is always a bonus and welcome.

The crossbow is also reasonably lightweight. There aren’t many problems with this crossbow. Except for the arrows that it comes with is terrible.

4. Wicked Ridge RDX 400 Crossbow Package

If you are looking for a crossbow under 1000$, which is good looking and has excellent build quality. You don’t need to look any further. The Wicked Ridge RDX 400 is a reverse draw crossbow made of aluminum and is excellent for hunting.

The crossbow has an optional feature called Acudraw pro. In my opinion, this is a must get. The Acudraw pro can silently cock your crossbow with 8.5pounds of force.

Without accessories, the weight of the crossbow is rather high. Weighing at 7.6 lbs, the RDX 400 is not lightweight. You add the attachments and scope. You may end up with an additional .5 pound of weight. In total, if you are looking for something lightweight (less than 6pounds), you shouldn’t get it. If the weight is not a dealbreaker for you, absolutely go for it.

The crossbow also has an auto-engaging safety trigger. The crossbow also features DFI (dry fire inhibitor). Unfortunately, the scope is not included. You have to select that as an add-on if you want. Again, in my opinion, you should get it.

The scope has three crosshairs and four dots. Each dot represents 10 yards. The first is 20, 30, 40, and 50. The 4th one is a free soul.

The crossbow also has a max speed of 400FPS. Just before this, you saw that a 1000$ crossbow had 370 FPS. If you are looking for a high-speed crossbow for cheap, just pull the trigger and buy this.

5. BARNETT Whitetail Pro STR Crossbow

I really love the build material of the Barnett Whitetail Pro STR. The build material of the crossbow is fiberglass. A material that you usually don’t see.

The crossbow comes with string dampness to reduce the noise. The flight track is made of CNC Machined aluminum. The flight track is quiet and highly accurate.

You can add any scope on top of the crossbow, as long as it supports Picatinny rail. Picatinny rail is versatile and supports quick release. Nock sensor and anti-dry fire trigger keep the crossbow safe from dry fire.

The included scope is a 4 x 32 illuminated scope. The scope is capable of working just fine, even in low-light conditions. You will also receive two 22″ Headhunter arrows.

While the crossbow may not support Acudraw, the included quiver is plenty fast enough.

The speed of this crossbow is 400 FPS. Glad to see some medium-end crossbow providing high speed. Thanks to the riser technology, you will always hit your target as long as you know how to fire a crossbow.

The trigger creep is not that high. Overall the crossbow is beginner-friendly. It will be an excellent purchase for anyone unwilling to spend a thousand bucks on a crossbow. We understand that’s why we recommend you the Whitetail Pro STR crossbow.

6. PSE Thrive 400 Crossbow Package

With 142 lbs of kinetic energy and 400 FPS, the crossbow is packed with power.

I am honestly surprised they managed to pull this. Most of the crossbow at a low price that provides high speed really lacks in the kinetic energy department.

For $400, the crossbow offers a lot—high speed for both hunter and competitive shooter.

  • The reverse compound style cam provides you high power. High power means high speed.
  • The scope also has an anti-dry fire trigger system. It protects the crossbow from dry fire.
  • The included illuminated scope has two color reticle red and green. The included scope is a 4×32 crossbow scope.
  • The illuminated reticle helps during dusk hunting.
  • The scope also comes with multiple reticles to choose from. You can change them from the side of the crossbow.
  • The crossbow also has string stops to dampen the sound.

7. Centerpoint Sniper 370 Crossbow Package

The cheapest crossbow on our list. That doesn’t mean it’s the worst. After reading the review, you will be the judge whether it’s worth your money or not.

The length of this crossbow is 36 inches. Uncocked, the width is 21 inches and cocked 18 inches.

It’s safe to say the crossbow is compact.

Even though the crossbow is compact, the power draw of this crossbow is not bad at all.

The kinetic energy of this crossbow is 185 lbs. With 185 pounds of kinetic energy, the crossbow can fire at up to 370 FPS.

Inside the Centerpoint Sniper 370 crossbow box, you will find the crossbow itself, a cocking rope (sorry no fancy Acudraw pro here), a 4×32 crossbow scope, and a quiver, shoulder sling, owner manual, and warranty card.

There are not that many accessories involved. But considering the price, I am thankful that they decided to give a crossbow scope. I know crossbow scopes are relatively cheap compared to a riflescope. Still, not a lot of cheap crossbow gives you a free scope.

But is the free scope any good? Yes, it is. The scope has five adjustable brightness levels. The problem with the illumination is unlike other scopes where 0 brightness means 0 brightness, here you can still notice some brightness. Well, it is nitpicking, but the problem is noticeable.

The crossbow is equipped with string suppression to reduce the firing noise. The crossbow is made of machine aluminum. You don’t have to worry about the durability.
